 The Database of Basic Vocabulary in Education and Database of Basic Vocabulary in Japanese Language Education, included on the CD-ROM included with "Kyoiku Kihon Goi no Kihonteki Kenkyu (Basic Research on the Fundamental Vocabulary Used for Educational Purposes): Revised and Extended Edition (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Report 127)," are available on this website. A wide range of fundamental vocabulary used for educational purposes has been compared for the selection of fundamental educational vocabulary for these two databases, to which information such as word classes and Bunrui Goihyo classification numbers has also been added.

 The Database of Basic Vocabulary in Education was first published on the CD-ROM included with "Kyoiku Kihon Goi no Kihonteki Kenkyu: Kyoiku Kihon Goi Database no Sakusei (Basic Research on the Fundamental Vocabulary Used for Educational Purposes: Construction of a Database) (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Report 117)" (2001).
 This database was subsequently revised to adapt the classification numbers to "Bunrui Goihyo (Word List by Semantic Principles): Revised and Enlarged Edition (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Reference 14)" (2004) , in addition to the addition of vocabulary distribution information, and was published on the CD-ROM included with "Kyoiku Kihon Goi no Kihonteki Kenkyu (Basic Research on the Fundamental Vocabulary Used for Educational Purposes): Revised and Extended Edition (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Report 127)" (2009). For convenience of use, two types of the Database of Basic Vocabulary in Education, Version 2009A based on the older "Bunrui Goihyo (Word List by Semantic Principles) (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Reference 6)" (1964) and Version 2009A based on "Bunrui Goihyo (Word List by Semantic Principles): Revised and Enlarged Edition," were included and published.

 The Database of Basic Vocabulary in Japanese Language Education was included and published on the CD-ROM included with "Kyoiku Kihon Goi no Kihonteki Kenkyu (Basic Research on the Fundamental Vocabulary Used for Educational Purposes): Revised and Extended Edition (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Report 127)" (2009).

 The files that are available on this website are the same as those on the CD-ROM included with "Kyoiku Kihon Goi no Kihonteki Kenkyu (Basic Research on the Fundamental Vocabulary Used for Educational Purposes): Revised and Extended Edition (National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics Report 127)."
